Computer Managed Instruction

CMI is a technique used to manage the interaction between the students and the course. Once an online learning application has been published to a CMI program, the administrator sets up the organizational structure, assigns the material, and evaluates the results.

Students or trainees can use a CMI program to determine what classes are assogned, find out about requirements, and keep track of scores and prograss. All of this informaiton is available using a web browser, allowing a student to take part in the course from any location with a computer, web browser and internet access.

In conjunction with CBT, CMI is used to facilitate the management of the results of testing techniques. CMI can be used to record logins, store test results, perform statistical analysis on those results, and any other function currently performed by a classroom instructor.
